Youth

It’s hard to be a tween/teen these days! We offer a safe place for your youth to explore, grow and learn about their faith. Our youth leaders love to spend time building relationships and having fun with the youth.

Confirmation Classes

Confirmation students during rite of confirmation

Confirmation is a three year program for youth in 6th – 8th grade. The Rite of Confirmation is held in the spring each year. Confirmation class meets Sundays after the worship service during the school year and is a time to explore the Old and New Testaments and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Students will learn about their faith and have their questions answered while building relationships with each other and their mentors. If you are interested in having your youth participate in Confirmation classes, please contact the church office.

Wednesday Youth Group

Middle school youth doing a presentation

Wednesday Youth Group is a place for Middle and High School age youth to develop their walk with God and relationships with each other – usually through Bible study, service projects and games. Depending upon the topic, the group either stays together or breaks into age groups for discussions. It’s the perfect opportunity for kids to be themselves and keep God in focus. Retreats, Outings, Events

We love to get out in God’s world with our youth!  Weekend and one day retreats are great ways to spend time focusing on God and maybe fit in a service project or two. We’ve also hosted Youth Connects – a one day retreat for youth in our area – featuring Swen & Dean and Pastor Bill Yonker for several years. Youth have gone to concerts, bowling, caroling, paint balling and more together. Join us for youth group to find out more.

WHAT IS THE GATHERING? The LCMS Youth Gathering is an event that has been held every 3 years since 1980, and provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to learn more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. It is truly an amazing, life changing event for youth and their leaders alike. You can see more at their website: www.lcmsgathering.com.

CLV youth and their Adult Leaders will spend 5 very full days from July 9-13 traveling, attending worship, daily programs and service projects opportunities. Each day has a plan and choice for what types of speakers and events to attend. The theme will be, In All Things, and we will focus on Colossians 1:15-20.

Youth in 8th grade – 12th grade this year are eligible to go and we are asking each family to prayerfully consider sending their youth to the Gathering.
