MASK UPDATE

Christ Lutheran Vail is still operating with “masks-optional” for Sunday morning worship. Pastor and staff continue to monitor the federal and local guidelines and will let the congregation know if further restrictions will be implemented. People at risk should understand that in-person gatherings have the potential for spread of COVID-19.

FACE MASK UPDATE

We continue to follow CDC guidelines regarding masks. If you are fully vaccinated, you may choose whether to wear a mask or not. If you are not fully vaccinated, current CDC guidelines encourage continuing to wear a mask. Do what is most comfortable for you and your family. Whether it’s masks on or off you are welcome!

FACE MASK UPDATE

For Sunday services, we recommend that you wear a mask into services, through the lobby, while socializing, etc. until you get to your seat. When you get to your seat, you may take your mask off for service. If you need to move about during service for any reason we recommend you put your mask back on. We also recommend wearing your mask to exit the building. If you feel more comfortable wearing your mask for the entire service, please do so. Please be supportive of one another as we continue to navigate COVID 19.

If you have any questions, please call the church office – 468.7075.

COVID-19 YOUTH PROTOCOLS AND PROCEDURES

Our goal is to take every precaution to keep everyone completely healthy, but please know you are assuming some risk in sending your youth/child to any in person youth event.

During this season of COVID-19, we are asking all parents and youth to be especially vigilant in assessing their health. We ask our families to immediately disclose possible contact with or exposure to COVID-19 (occupational contact, social or familial contact or travel related contact.) We reserve the right to make decisions at our own discretion for the health and safety of everyone.

We ask that you keep your child/youth at home for at least 48 hours fever-free (without fever reducing medication) if they develop symptoms that are potentially related to COVID-19.

A completed and signed 2020 youth registration form with current contact information is required before a youth/child may attend any CLV youth activity.

During Phase 1, all youth activities will be outdoors.

Masks are required when arriving and leaving and when a safe 6’ distance cannot be kept between participants.

Elementary youth group participants will need a parent to sign them in and complete the health check before being allowed to join the group. Middle and High school youth will need to complete the health check before being allowed to join the group.

Health Check Procedure:
● Temperature check will be performed
● Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be sent home
● Participants will be asked the two questions listed below. The answers will be documented each youth group session. If the answer is yes the child/youth will not be able to participate. Once your child/youth clears the health check, they will be permitted to enter their youth group.
          1. Are you or your child/youth exhibiting any symptoms of illness?
          2. Have you or your child/youth had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID in the last two weeks?

Youth will bring their own chairs, water bottles, snacks, etc.

Hands will be sanitized or washed before and after group games.

We want our youth to bring their friends! However, all guests must have a completed registration form prior to attending.

Thank you for your help and understanding as we work together to keep us all healthy and safe.

JOIN US ONLINE SUNDAY AT 9AM FOR WORSHIP!
You will find the link on our home page.

In this challenging season please remember that our building is closed, but our church is not!

Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to keep everyone safe, we will not be worshiping in person for now (except for the monthly Communion service). CLV leadership and staff have carefully considered all the options and we believe it is the right decision at this time.

Our desire is to remain connected as a church and community through this unprecedented time. CLV is online multiple times throughout the week, including Sunday service and the weekday bible study. Both can be accessed through our Facebook page and YouTube channel. The Sunday service can also be accessed on the homepage of this website.  We’d love to have you join us!

We also connect via a weekly email with updates and announcements.  If you would like to be included on the distribution list, please contact the church office.

Our prayer team continues to meet weekly and would love to pray for you.  If you have something you would like us to pray for, you can submit it on our Prayer page or email us.  If it is an urgent matter, please call the church office.

The church office is closed at this time, but is staffed Monday – Thursday from 9am – 3pm and Friday from 9am – 12pm. If you need us for anything, please call or email. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

We will continue to monitor the CDC, state, and local government recommendations on how to handle the COVID-19 precautions. Any updates will be added to this page.
